Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: Oversees continued evolution of marketing services and the planning, development and implementation of the marketing communications. This includes managing to the next horizon of techniques and approaches in marketing communications, particularly within the realm of digital marketing. It also includes the ability to refine the work process to focus on core priorities for the business and foster a highly functioning and collaborative team.
Marketing Services develops and designs the majority of materials and techniques that connect to Promega customers. This includes all marketing materials (web site, webinars, tradeshow experience, technical manuals, videos, PPT, social media), corporate identity and internal company-wide communications. The group primarily works with Promega business units, global branches, product development teams, Corporate Affairs and IT in the development of communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Promega leadership roles support teams and integrate institutional values for a strong performance and promising future. Leaders are expected to hold strong emotional intelligence, be comfortable with new thinking and chronically curious about everything.
1. Establishes strategic direction for department that supports values and needs of the business.
2. Provides support and direction to core areas of MS operation around evolving the Promega experience with customer engagement and relationships. This includes working with the team in refining alignment of all communications components such as the content, design, and web strategies.
3. Provides a key connection between the department and key stakeholders in the company. This includes providing support in strategic thinking and communications planning for marketing initiatives. For larger initiatives this also includes ongoing check-ins to assess needs and set expectations.
4. Collaborates with colleagues in understanding and defining customer segments and profiles. Develops and holds deep understanding of customer decision-making process and information needs. Understands market, competitive insights and implications to drive strategy.
5. Develops and supports effort to grow Marketing Services as a resource within the company. Identifies areas for growth and the disciplines most appropriate to realize these new initiatives. This also includes provision of information/metrics on most effective marketing campaigns and tactics.
6. Regularly reviews and makes adjustments as needed for effective and efficient department operation. Ensures process and colleagues have the tools and support needed for flexibility and future growth.
7. As department lead, need to be able to observe, listen and take initiative needed to foster an environment of creativity, collaboration, mutual support and proactive risk taking. Integrates sensibility to keep pace with change and implications in our future.
8. Works with teams and their managers in overview content, design and UX, functionality as well as look and feel to ensure on target communication.
9. Builds client relations through ongoing communication with internal clients, particularly business units, R&D and branches. Annually gauges client satisfaction as key department performance indicator.
10. Manages annual department budget. Helps identify and integrate any external vendors needed to support the work.
11. Leads as well as participates on global teams and steering committees on related topics.
12. Monitors best practice in other industries, as it applies to marketing channels, methods and processes, to ensure these are considered as opportunities for business improvement at Promega.
13. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.
MANDATORY
Qualifications:
1. More than 5-10 years' experience in senior management role for marketing or marketing communications position. BA in communications, marketing, or journalism. 2. Strong written, verbal, presentation and facilitation skills.
3. Experienced in keeping pace with digital marketing techniques and strategies.
4. Proven strategic thinker with ability to translate plans into relevant, creative communications.
5. Knowledge of marketing and advertising analytics.
6. Experience with media planning theory.
7. Ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects based on goals and strategic direction.
8. Knowledge of voice of customer methods and user testing.
9. Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
10. Strong emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of life science industry.
2. Experience with CRM and project management systems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to lift 30 lbs.
2. Occasional travel.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
