Biostatistician - Fantastic Company PHOENIX, AZ

If you are adept at creating algorithms and R code under the supervision of a senior biostatistician to interpret next-generation sequencing results. testing code and training operations staff in its usage along with the following requirements, please contact us immediately.
Qualifications:
a. Strong coding stills with R, C and C++
b. Designs and documents code for easy modification
c. Strong understanding of statistical and probabalistic distributions, including normal, geometric, Poisson, exponential and binomial distributions.
d. Strong mathematical background. For example, can calculate joint probability distributions, functions of random variables and minima of complex functions.
e. Familiarity with robust loss functions, including robust regression and support vector machines.
f. Ability to assess computational complexity of algorithms
g. Balances time required to create code with time required to execute it. Makes code fit for purpose.
h. Understands quality risks of different changes to code and determines appropriate test methods. Complies with appropriate regulations.
i. Designs and implements appropriate measures to test code
2. Analyzes Results for QA/QC
a. Conducts routine analysis of quality control results, including instrument correlation, reagent qualification and employee competency testing for CLIA.
b. Serves as a backup for routine patient analysis.
3. Assay Design
a. Designs assays (for example PCR) using existing tools
b. Designs and creates new tools for designing assays.
c. Familiar with molecular biology databases, including COSMIC, Ensembl and NCBI.
4. Training
a. Trains end-users of software. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong mathematical background.
Direct experience designing and coding tools for analysis of results. Using tools created by others or managing others who create software is not sufficient to meet this requirement.
Graduate courses in molecular biology, or a undergraduate degree in biology.
Qualifications:
?Experience analyzing next generation sequencing results
?Experience working in a regulated environment such as a CLIA laboratory
?Experience in QA/QC
Education: Thesis master's degree in mathematics, engineering or biostatistics. A PhD is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
