Gerdau is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our facility in Madison, WI.

Position Summary:
Plan and perform all maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition; diagnose and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair.

Work involves a complete range and wide variety of duties on diversified and difficult work using a variety of precision instruments requiring much care to effectively and efficiently diagnose, dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, or otherwise work on general maintenance in varied capacities of electrician, pipefitter, burner, welder, millwright, assembler, plumber, and installer.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machine.
Start, observe, operate, or otherwise activate equipment to detect or verify correction of malfunctions.
Inspect, adjust, clean or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance.
Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
Utilize computers and PLCs to monitor equipment operation and set-up for different operating condition.
Assist other maintenance employees with repairs as necessary.
Use PLCs to troubleshoot production equipment.
Adjust mechanisms such as feeds, speed, power input and output and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.
Assist in the instruction, development, and monitoring of other maintenance employees.
Detect and report faulty material, environmental hazards, and/or improper operation of plant equipment or machinery; refer questionable and unusual matters to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clear and orderly fashion. Follow all safety regulations and practices.
Other tasks as required.

Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Available to work overtime and/or Saturdays as business needs dictate.
Basic skills with MS-Office.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
