Position Purpose
This position facilitates the timely and accurate settlement of client claims and provides outstanding support and customer service to the assigned agents and clients in accordance with department workflows, procedures, service schedules and StarClass

Essential Functions
Claims Processing
Process, record, monitor and analyzes property and casualty claims.
Submit claims to insurance carriers; process appropriate materials for settlement.
Adjust first party losses within draft authority.
Educate clients on the claims process.
Respond to claims-related inquires from clients, others in the agency,
shops, etc.
Conduct proactive client and prospect calls and visits as described in the StarClass Standards.
Follow up on outstanding claims and provide updates to necessary parties. Provide back up to the other claims' counselors as needed.
Work closely with our insurance company partners and their claims staff
Establish and build rapport with company adjusters and act as a liaison between clients and the insurance companies.
Negotiate the best settlement for our clients with out carrier partners
Coordinate claim related activities between clients, our carriers and HJI staff when necessary.
Keep Agents informed of progress on larger claims
Work to reduce claim reserves when appropriate
Maintain and build strong relationships with carrier adjusters
Professional Development
Maintain and expand knowledge of the insurance industry.
Obtain and maintain an insurance designation such as CISR, AIC, CIC, CPCU.

License, Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
Minimum of three years claims / insurance experience.
Prior experience processing Workers Compensation Claims preferred.
Hold and maintain a valid
Property and Casualty Insurance Agents license within 3 months of hire.
Valid driver's license and personal reliable vehicle required for work related day travel.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
