We are currently on the lookout for an experienced General Manager to join the team in Madison, WI! The General Manager reports to the Regional Property Manager and is responsible and accountable for overseeing and ensuring the optimum operational and financial performance of the community.
Manages the staff and oversees completion of all core business processes, including leasing, resident relations, marketing, maintenance, budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor relations, selection and recruitment, individual and team development, reporting, and safety and legal compliance.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Regional Property Manager here is a snapshot of what you will do:
Use your upbeat, outgoing personality to lead, mentor and guide the team to ensure that the student space is running smoothly Take full responsibility of the budget and P&L, and the financial performance of the student space You'll cross all the T's and dot the I's, to and ensure you are managing costs and maximizing profit for the property Follow up on all sales opportunities and ensure the student space is at capacity Drive sales and marketing activities to ensure the student space is full and all marketing channels have been utilized to their full potential Manage 'the good' and turn around the 'not so good' - meaning you will handle complaints and offer excellent student experiences to your students Use your advanced knowledge of safety, security, compliance and building management to ensure core operating procedures are adhered to, followed up on and we are providing a safe secure home to our students Maintain and develop relationships with key players at the local universities, as well as internal and external suppliers - again here is that winning personality! Be a smooth operator and ensure the smooth running of the operational calendar and student lifecycle from arrival, departure, and summer turn around Hire, supervise, train, and lead community team members to achieve property and company operational goals.
Maintain an awareness of training resources available and encourages the development of team members.
Use performance counseling to correct and/or improve performance issues.
Assist in formulating the community's annual operating and capital budgets and implements programs designed to achieve the community's financial, operating, and resident services goals.
Enforce all policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance by ensuring all property records (leases, addenda, reports, etc.
) are kept in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies and practices.

Relevant experience running a property, even better at a university/college Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain quality relationships Experience within a fast paced, target driven environment with strong focus on sales and marketing Bachelor's degree in a related field Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience Be proficient in working with technology and adaptable to online systems.

This is a supervisory role comprised of leading, training, and recruiting our next generation of #FutureShapers.
This position is eligible for a housing discount equivalent to a standard 1 bed x 1 bath unit at this Yugo property, pending unit availability on site.
This position is paid annually at a salary of $60,000 - $66,000 / year.
