The Operational Quality Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily activities related to the operations. The Engineer will provide quidance and assistance to the Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians to ensure adequate support is provided to both internal and external customers. This position will also act as the Quality Engineer for the DEF Level Production unit and will handle directly all customer interactions for that Production unit.
Duties:
Monitor the daily activities of the Production Unit Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians to ensure all requirements and commitments are met on a timely basis.
Provide guidance to the Quality Engineers on technical issues and assist in customer communications as required.
Oversee all operational activities affecting Quality to ensure both internal and external customers are receiving adequate attention and support.
Review weekly and monthly QOS metrics for Quality and provide monthly summaries of the results by individual Production units and individual customers.
Review monthly Customer scorecards with the Quality Engineers to ensure these scorecards correlate with QOS metrics, provide a summary to the Quality Manager, and initiate actions as required.
Provide weekly summary reports to the Quality Manager on all activities and accomplishments from the Production Unit Quality Engineers.
Perform periodic performance reviews for the operational Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.
Serve as Quality Engineer and cover all quality functions for the DEF Production Unit.
Participate in DEF focus team meetings and support team to make data driven decisions to help drive improvements.
Participate in the APQP process for any new or changed parts within the Production unit.
Ensure ongoing compliance to all customer requirements as well as Quality System requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
5-10 years of experience within a production environment. Proven track record of accomplishments in the areas of Continuous Improvement, Corrective Action, successful PPAP submissions and product launches.
Proven success as a facilitator in working with teams on root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Ideal candidate will have some automotive production experience.
