The Software Assurance Marketplace (SWAMP) operates through the Morgridge Institute for Research and seeks to improve the security and reliability of open source software. It operates as a collaborative exchange that facilitates continuous software assurance and the development of better tools for software analysis.
The Systems Web Developer will use web-based programming, design tools and best practices to design, develop and maintain web-based user interfaces for operations reporting for the Software Assurance Marketplace. This position will work with local and remote project staff to create intuitive, easy-to-use interfaces for a continuous software assurance facility. In addition, this position will:
Integrate web-based solutions with other information systems, for example identity management systems and web servers.
Work with security staff to ensure that web-interfaces are secure and integrated with state-of-the art industry standard security solutions.
Use modern software development processes to gather requirements and iteratively develop software that meets the needs of our internal and external customers.
Integrate 3rd party open source and commercial software with in-house developed solutions.
Provide in-line and stand-alone architectural and user documentation to ensure developed solutions are extensible, supportable and usable by others.
We are seeking candidates who have a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, digital media or equivalent experience. Candidates are required to have at least two years of web development experience with LAMP technologies. In addition, candidates must have:
Excellent customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Experience with SQL, HTML5, XML, shell scripting and one or more modern web programming languages (e.g. Ruby on Rails, JavaScript)
Skills programming in at least two of the following: Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby/Rails experience with multiple languages is preferred.
Skilled working with the following technologies: Linux, Apache, Web Services, REST, RPC, SOAP, SQL as well as databases, modern software development and revision control tools
Skills with one or more content management systems like Drupal is preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
