What is a Respite Companion? Non-Medical Respite Companions get paid to spend time with a child that has a disability ie.
autism, down syndrome etc.
Respite Companions give the parents of the child much needed time off and connect with a child to make a positive difference in their life.
Responsibilities Engage with and supervise the child with special needs during respite care sessions.
Foster a safe and nurturing environment conducive to the child's well-being.
Encourage and participate in recreational activities tailored to the child's interests and abilities.
Maintain open communication with the child's family and/or caregivers regarding their specific needs and preferences.
Make a meaningful connection and make a difference in a child's life.
Requirements Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and build rapport with children.
Dependability and reliability are essential for this role.
Must pass background checks and screenings as required.
