The Outreach and Engagement Intern will support the WARF and Morgridge Outreach teams in engaging the public with science exploration activities. This position will promote these activities by traveling to community sites, which could include libraries, the Boys and Girls Club or other community centers. The Intern will also help develop science outreach materials that will be used both in the Discovery Building and off-site. This position provides a great opportunity to learn how to communicate effectively with different audiences.
We are seeking individuals who are committed to working a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school semesters, however, additional hours may be available during the summer. Most hours will be during the work week Monday - Friday, but some evening and weekend hours will occasionally be required. The ability to independently travel to community sites in Madison by bus or car is required and travel reimbursement will be available.
Ideal candidates will be working towards a bachelor's or graduate degree in a scientific or education related field and should be familiar with the University of Wisconsin and affiliate organizations. Other requirements for the position include the ability to handle multiple tasks while prioritizing and meeting deadlines, effective oral and written communication skills, strong customer service skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
