Position Objective
The Business Performance Statistical Analyst supports exploratory analytics projects from inception (problem definition), to data gathering and cleansing, to analysis and recommendations, and to deployment. Responsible for applying statistical analysis and data mining methods to data to produce valuable business insights. Works effectively across functions to quickly generate insights from data and to provide data-driven recommendations. Maintains a strong focus on improving business results.
Primary Accountabilities
Performance Analytics / Project Support (60%)
Understands business problems and applies analytical techniques to research and solve those problems.
Assists (where necessary) with dataset creation, including data extraction, data transformation / cleansing, and data quality assessment.
Performs statistical analysis in SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS STAT, and/or R, using techniques such as statistical inference, regression, clustering, and decision trees.
Interprets and validates analysis results; justifies and explains conclusions for technical and non-technical audiences.
Recommends data-driven interventions in business processes based on analysis results; demonstrates passion for continuous improvement.
Prepares reports and documentation related to project progress.
Communication and Presentation (40%)
Summarizes analysis results and conclusions and creates presentations; is concise and precise in written and verbal communication.
Employs data visualization best practices to more easily share analytic results with non-technical business partners.
Documents analytic approaches or unique aspects of data to aid understanding.
Proactively communicates with team members and project stakeholders.
Collaborates effectively with other team members (data analysts, business analysts, and project lead), helping others learn statistical analysis methods, software, data sources, and skills to improve quantitative solutions.Job Competencies

Demonstrated experience with statistical modeling and data mining of large datasets using tools/languages such as SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS STAT, SQL, or R.
Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis techniques and algorithms, such as data cleansing, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, linear regression, and logistic regression.
Demonstrated experience working within cross functional teams; ability to multi-task and anticipate project needs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Travel Requirements
This position requires travel up to 5% of the time
