department. Works closely with assigned corporate business units to manage spend. Responsible for multiple assignments involving complex financial research and analyses, developing and preparing operational plans, forecasts and rate case supporting documentation; provides financial reports from financial system outputs and also inputs data into financial
systems
; interprets financial information for business units, serves as liaison between business units and other finance area groups.
This position may be filled at Lead
financial analyst
level depending on candidate experience.
Performs complex financial research and analysis.
Uses knowledge of internal business issues and external forces to develop and maintain corporate financial models used to generate long-term forecasts and analyze trends in finance.
Participates in analysis of budget to actual variance.
Creates and uses financial models to help with business planning decisions.
Provides complex analytical support to business units.
Defends rate cases by writing responses to data requests on a wide range of complex issues.
Leads special project work as required.
Reviews work of lower level staff for quality and completeness.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and/or experience equivalent to a four year degree from an accredited college or university, with emphasis in
accounting
, economics, finance, or related area. Advanced degree, CPA, CMA, or CFA certification preferred.
A minimum of five years technical and/or professional experience in security analysis, corporate finance, investment
management
, cash management or investor relations; an MBA or professional certifications may be considered for a portion of professional work experience.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Demonstrated competency in financial modeling, financial planning and general
computer
applications.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
